Philip Fayer is the founder of Nuvei and serves as our Chair of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Fayer founded Pivotal Payments, Nuvei’s predecessor, in 2003. A seasoned entrepreneur, Mr. Fayer has over 20 years of experience in the electronic payments industry. Under his leadership and direction, the Company expanded organically and through strategic acquisitions. With the acquisition of SafeCharge in 2019, Nuvei grew its geographic footprint and broadened its technology and service offering to large scale merchants in over 200 global markets. Under his leadership, Nuvei was named in 2020 by Deloitte as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies. Mr. Fayer’s business skills, industry knowledge and leadership are broadly recognized, having been named in 2009 in Canada’s Top 40 Under 40™ as well as being awarded in 2019 the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® for Québec in the FinTech category. Mr. Fayer attended Concordia University (Montréal, Québec). Through a foundation with his wife, Mr. Fayer devotes time for several charities, including with respect to youth unemployment and cancer research.
Mr. Schwartz has been Nuvei’s Chief Financial Officer since November 2018. Prior to Nuvei, Mr. Schwartz was a senior executive of The Aldo Group, a leading footwear and accessories retailer, ultimately being appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2015. Previously, Mr. Schwartz held senior financial executive roles at Optimal Payments including Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Schwartz started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he held positions in Assurance and Financial Advisory Services. Mr. Schwartz holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University. He is a chartered professional accountant and has been a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (CPA, CA) since 1996. In addition, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Ms. Shetter is the Chief People Officer of Nuvei with global responsibility for Human Resources. She is a proven people operations executive and attorney, with deep experience in global business management and human resources leadership. As Chief People Officer, Ms. Shetter is responsible for Nuvei’s HR infrastructure, and building a community and culture that supports the needs of the team while attracting exceptional talent. She joins Nuvei from its acquisition of Paya, having previously held the role of Head of People at Spanx Inc. and at Variant, and has an extensive background in people operations with roles at VF Corporation, Starbucks Coffee Company, and Walt Disney World. Ms. Shetter holds a Juris Doctor from The University of Notre Dame Law School and a BS from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
Mr. Ludwig has been the Senior Vice President, Products since 2018. Prior to joining Nuvei, Mr. Ludwig was Chief Strategy Officer of iMobile3. Previously, he spent 18 years at TSYS Merchant Solutions, holding the positions of President of Golden Retriever Systems, Director of Product Management and Strategy, Group Executive Product Management, Senior Vice President of Product Management and Strategy and Senior Director, Head of Product. Mr. Ludwig holds a Bachelor of General Studies in Computer Applications and Business and Computer Science from Louisiana Tech University.
Mr. Kadashev has been Chief Information Officer, Digital Payments, since November 2019, after having joined SafeCharge in November 2015. At SafeCharge, Mr. Kadashev held the positions of Vice-President Information Technology and Global IT Manager. Prior to joining SafeCharge, Mr. Kadashev spent 7 years as an Infrastructure Team Leader for 888.com. Previously, Mr. Kadashev was a Senior Solutions Architect at EMC, a Lotus Notes Administrator at Teva Pharmaceuticals, and a Lotus Notes Administrator and Team Manager at Ernst & Young.
Mr. Conteville has over 15 years of direct marketing-related experience in the payments industry, including spending 11 years at Mastercard, most recently as their Senior Vice President, Global Head of Digital Marketing. Prior to Mastercard, Mr. Conteville has also worked on the agency side as account lead for marquee financial services clients including Visa, Citibank, and Saxo Bank, leading digital media efforts internationally.
Ms. Matthews has over 23 years of broad legal experience in corporate, securities and commercial law, as well as in M&A and corporate governance, both as in-house counsel and in private practice. She was most recently Vice-President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Gildan Activewear Inc., where she led the global legal team since 2010. Prior to joining Gildan in 2004, Ms. Matthews practised corporate and securities law at Ogilvy Renault (now Norton Rose Fulbright). Ms. Matthews holds a B.C.L. and LL.B. from the McGill University Faculty of Law as well as a B.A. from Northwestern University.
Mr. Erlick has been Nuvei’s Chief Corporate Development Officer since January 2021. Prior to Nuvei, Mr. Erlick spent nearly two decades in senior leadership roles at Paysafe Group, most recently having served as Executive Vice President of Business Development. Supporting global gaming operators, he helped grow the company from a start-up to a multibillion-dollar enterprise. He has facilitated partnerships with professional sports teams and leagues, as well as brokered transformational deals in high growth digital verticals. Having worked closely with the card brands and payment stakeholders, Mr. Erlick has helped collaborate, educate and pioneer industry awareness to the rapidly growing opportunity in U.S. sports betting, following the Supreme Court ruling over two years ago to end the federal ban. In 2015, Mr. Erlick was elected to the Board of Directors of the Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA) and was named in Global Gaming Business Magazine’s 2017 class of 40 Under 40.
Max currently serves as Nuvei's Chief Information Officer. He previously held roles as Nuvei's Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer, having joined SafeCharge in September 2018 as its Chief Information Officer. Prior to SafeCharge, Max served as Chief Information Officer Site Manager at TATA Consulting Services, where he managed Yahav Bank’s full IT operations platform. Previously, Max held the roles of Research & Development Site Manager at the Israel Development and Engineering Center for Barclays Bank and Director of IT and Operations for BluePhoenix. He holds multiple technology certificates and is completing his B.A in Social Science at the Open University.
Mr. Nissim has served as the Chief Information Security Officer, Digital Payments, since joining SafeCharge in May 2019. Prior to SafeCharge, Mr. Nissim was the Information Security Manager at Discount Bank. Previously, he served as the Chief Technology Officer and Cyber Security Leader of Enterprise Service in Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Israel. Mr. Nissim also served as a Security Solution Architect and a Security Consulting and Integration Consultant for Hewlett Packard. Mr. Nissim was previously a Network and Systems Manager for Compaq. He achieved the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation from ISC2 and completed Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) training from ISACA. Mr. Nissim also holds Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certifications.
Mr. Kabala was appointed Chief Data and Analytics Officer in February 2022. In his global role, he spearheads Nuvei’s data and analytics, risk scoring and modelling as the Company continues to grow data-led services through its leading-edge technology while responding to the evolving real-time payment needs of businesses and merchants around the world. Mr. Kabala was a co-founder of Israeli fintech startup Simplex, which Nuvei acquired in September 2021. Prior to Simplex, he managed fraud prevention teams in PayPal, dealing both with back-end automation and user-facing risk platforms. Aside from working at Simplex, he has created and taught a fraud prevention class as part of Tel-Aviv University's MBA program. Mr. Kabala holds a B.A. in Economics and Management, and an MBA, both from Tel-Aviv University.
Mr. Morar has been Chief Strategy Officer since October 2018 and now serves as Nuvei's Global Expansion Officer. He also serves as principal director of certain SafeCharge subsidiaries in the U.K. as well as subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Singapore and Mexico. He first joined SafeCharge in 2014, previously serving as Executive Vice President Corporate Development & Strategy. He joined SafeCharge from Worldpay, where he served as Vice President of Vertical Market Strategy and as General Manager & Vice President of Business Development APAC. He also participated in the strategic team which steered WorldPay’s divestment from the Royal Bank of Scotland to Advent International and Bain Capital in 2010.
Mr. Katz has been the Senior Vice President, Human Resources at SafeCharge, since November 2017 and serves as Nuvei's Global Innovation Officer since May 2022. Mr. Katz has also served as the Managing Director of SafeCharge’s Israeli subsidiary since February 2014. He was previously Chairman of CreditGuard, which SafeCharge acquired in 2014. Mr. Katz joined SafeCharge in 2012 as VP of Product and Marketing. Previously, he held executive positions at several AdTech start-ups, including Chief Executive Officer of Reimage. Prior to that, Mr. Katz led technology, product and marketing teams from Jacada and at Verint Systems Inc. Mr. Katz holds a BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Tel-Aviv University.
Mr. Ziv has served as Managing Director, Digital Payments since October 2019 after first joining SafeCharge in 2008 and was promoted to President in 2022. Over the course of his tenure at SafeCharge, Mr. Ziv held the positions of Chief Operating Officer, Chief Commercial Officer, Managing Director, and Vice President Business Development, in addition to serving as a board member and as the Vice President of Operations and Business Development at the Gate2shop division. Prior to joining SafeCharge, Mr. Ziv was an Operation Manager at FTS (Formula Telecom Solution), a Budget and Control Manager for MAFIL Ltd., and an Analysis team leader for Cellcom Ltd. Mr. Ziv holds a Master of Laws and a Bachelor in Economics and Business from Bar-Ilan University.
